Who makes this distinction between squareful and squarefull numbers? Alonso del Arte 00:04, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

So MathWorld doesn't make the distinction (using only the one-L version), PlanetMath doesn't either (using only the two-L version), and neither does Wikipedia (mentioning both as synonyms rather than distinct sequences). Charles R Greathouse IV 05:54, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Then I think one of these should be redirected to the other. Alonso del Arte 16:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Squareful and squarefull

The word "squarefull" contradicts a rule of English that adjectives meaning "full of" end in "ful" instead of "full," unless the adjective is "full." Therefore, the title of this page should be Squareful numbers. I know that we love math more than English, but we should have good spelling. Bobby Jacobs 21:17, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Compare squareful numbers with squarefull numbers, cubeful numbers with cubefull numbers, ... I know that "squarefull" is not proper English, but I've seen it used in some places to distinguish between squareful numbers and squarefull numbers. — Daniel Forgues 19:43, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Well, "squareful" means "full of squares." However, squareful numbers are not necessarily full of squares. They only have some squares. It would be better to call them "squaresome" instead of "squareful." I believe that squarefull numbers should be called squareful numbers, and squareful numbers should be called squaresome numbers. I thought the same, e.g. squaresome numbers and squareful numbers, but those are not the terms used in the literature, unfortunately! The terms used are squareful numbers and squarefull numbers instead. (Writing square-full numbers might be more orthographically correct, though. Still, what I've seen is squarefull numbers.) Same for cubeful numbers and cubefull numbers, biquadrateful numbers and biquadratefull numbers, ... — Daniel Forgues 17:41, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
