Template:Encyclopedia of Mathematics/doc

The {{EoM}} ({{Encyclopedia of Mathematics}}) external link template gives a [URL encoded] link to a page on Encyclopedia of Mathematics.

Usage

{{EoM|urlname = Page index|title = Page title|author = Lastname, Firstname}}

or

{{EoM|urlname = Page index|title = Page title}}

or

{{EoM|Page index|Page title}}

where the first parameter is assumed to be urlname, the second parameter is assumed to be title, or

{{EoM|Page title}}

where urlname is inferred by automatically URL encoding title. You must use "sentence case" for page title, since it is the convention used by Encyclopedia of Mathematics (EoM), except for Main Page. (The link will NOT work if you use "title case"!)

Note

The automatic conversion to "sentence case" (done with {{ucfirst:{{lc:{{{1}}}}}}}) has been disabled, since it breaks the link when there are proper names that don't start the title, as is the case for Levitzki in {{EoM|Amitsur-Levitzki theorem}}.

Examples

Examples with valid input

{{EoM}} yields

Main Page. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Main%20Page

{{EoM|C*-algebra}} yields

C*-algebra. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=C*-algebra

{{EoM|Almost-prime number|author = Bredikhin, B.M.|authorlink =}} yields

Almost-prime number. Bredikhin, B.M. (originator), Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Almost-prime%20number

{{EoM|Hilbert's 2nd problem}} yields

Hilbert's 2nd problem. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Hilbert's%202nd%20problem

{{EoM|Amitsur-Levitzki theorem}} yields

Amitsur-Levitzki theorem. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Amitsur-Levitzki%20theorem

Examples with invalid input (using "title case" won't work)

You must use "sentence case" for page title, since it is the convention used by Encyclopedia of Mathematics (EoM), except for Main Page. (The link will NOT work if you use "title case"!)

The following examples won't work (because "title case" is not the convention used by EoM):

{{EoM|Almost-prime Number}} yields

Almost-prime Number. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Almost-prime%20Number

{{EoM|Hilbert's 2nd Problem}} yields

Hilbert's 2nd Problem. Encyclopedia of Mathematics. URL: http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org/index.php?title=Hilbert's%202nd%20Problem
