Milton Abramowitz (???born 1915??? - died July 1958) American mathematician originally tasked with editing the Handbook of Mathematical Functions, with Formulas, Graphs and Mathematical Tables. His death in 1958 was a setback to the project, which Irene Anne Stegun brought to completion.[1] In 1961, a scholarship at the University of Maryland was established to honor his memory.
