User:Yu Hin Au

Yu Hin (Gary) Au received his B. Math (2005), M. Math (2007) and Ph.D (2014) degrees from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. His completed his masters and doctoral studies in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization, under the supervision of Levent Tunçel. He then spent three years as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin, U.S.A.. Since January 2018, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Saskatchewan.

His research interests mainly involve discrete mathematics and optimization, including the theory and applications of combinatorial optimization, linear and integer programming, graph theory, approximation algorithms and computational complexity. He has also worked on several projects in combinatorics on words, and is passionate about issues and advances in mathematics education.
