S. J. Edwards has been active with computer chess since the 1970s and is the inventor of the Chess Data Interchange Standards (SAN for chess moves, FEN for chess positions, EPD for extended position description, and PGN for portable game notation). He has produced several chess construction integer sequences, primarily the enumerations of move paths for the initial chess array.
