During the 1990’s Nik studied composition with Professor's Jonathan Harvey and Martin Butler at Sussex University. He continues to experiment with an eclectic range of compositional styles, and is currently taking a part time PHD in Music under the supervision of Peter Wiegold. His interest in integer sequences is related to emergent patterns, both musically & philosophically.

The majority of Nik’s compositional output is notated for live performance on traditional instruments, with intermittent forays into combining the live and acousmatic sound worlds. Recent work includes the release of a 12” music & spoken word vinyl LP “The Dice Man Speaks” in collaboration with Luke Rhinehart (author of the seminal novel “The Dice Man” – http://www.lukerhinehart.net/music); Nik persuaded Luke to cast various dice sequences, which inspired the music.
