Michel Eduardo Beleza Yamagishi, born in Manaus, Brazil, in 1971, is a scientific researcher at Embrapa Agricultura Digital, where he works within the Embrapa Multiuser Bioinformatics Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Campinas (Unicamp) in 2001. His research expertise encompasses bioinformatics, genomics, and optimization problems. Dr. Yamagishi is the author of the book "Mathematical Grammar of Biology," which provides a mathematical extension of Chargaff's second parity rule to higher-order oligonucleotides. Additionally, he co-developed the BSREM algorithm, currently utilized in GE Healthcare's Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanning devices.
