Michael Spiegel is a computer scientist based in Charlottesville, Virginia. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Virginia in 2011, with a dissertation on cache-conscious concurrent data structures; his published work includes the Lock-Free Multiway Search Tree, OpenMP task scheduling for multicore NUMA systems, and contributions to OpenMx, an open-source structural equation modeling framework for R. He currently works at Hushmesh Inc. and is a co-inventor on US Patent 11,706,221.
