Ana Salagean currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Loughborough University, UK.

Her research interests are in cryptography (especially functions and sequences over finite fields and their applications to symmetric cryptography) and coding theory (algebraic error - correcting codes), as well as the interplay between these two areas.

Ana Salagean graduated from University of Bucharest, Romania and obtained her PhD from the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation, J. Kepler University Linz, Austria, advisor Prof. Bruno Buchberger. She held positions at the University of Bucharest and Nottingham Trent University before joining Loughborough University in 2001.
