Academic research
I am currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Cambridge (see here), having previously completed my undergraduate studies there. My research is in computational algebraic topology and its applications to statistics.
Other research
- In 2018, Tomas Rokicki and I discovered the first elementary knightship in Conway's Life. I wrote a blog post about the discovery process.
- In 2016, I gave a talk demonstrating that deep learning could have been implemented on the Analytical Engine, which was reported by Motherboard magazine.
- In 2015, I launched a distributed search for emergence in cellular automata, which has searched different initial configurations (roughly one million CPU-hours) as of February 2017.
Consulting
I founded Hatsya Limited to provide mathematically-inspired solutions to real-world problems.
