Consecutive integers

Consecutive integers are integers such that one is the successor of the other (thus their difference is 1). The only [positive] consecutive integers which are primes are 2 and 3. The only [positive] consecutive integers which are perfect powers are 8 and 9: $\scriptstyle 3^{2}-2^{3}\,=\,1.\,$
