COMMENTS

Although baseball's first World Series, in 1903, was an 8-game series, as were those in 1912, 1919, and 1921, it has ever since been a best-of-seven-game series.

EXAMPLE

a(3) = 8 because the first World Series was in 1903, as an 8-game series where the Boston Americans won 5 games and the Pittsburgh Pirates won 3 games.

a(4) = 0 because there was no 1904 World Series.

a(5) = 5 because the 1905 World Series was a 5-game series (New York Giants 4, Philadelphia Athletics 1).

a(6) = 6 because in 1906 there was a 6-game series (Chicago White Sox 4, Chicago Cubs 2).

a(110) = 5 because the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers (in their first ever World Series) 4 games to 1.

a(111) = 7 because the Cardinals defeated the Rangers in seven games to win their 11th World Series championship, the first World Series to go all seven games since 2002.

a(112) = 4 because the San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers concluding Oct 28, 2012.

a(113) = 6 because the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals in game #6 4 games to 2, on October 30, 2013, for the first time that Boston clinched a series at home in 95 years.
