Re: different presentation

I would prefer to get

Eric W. Weisstein, "Derangement," from MathWorld – A Wolfram Web Resource

instead of current

Weisstein, Eric W., Derangement, from MathWorld—A Wolfram Web Resource.

may I modify the template to do so? – Daniel Forgues 08:05, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

I agree that it is better to have the final period put automatically with the template. I didn't put it (I had left it as an option or not to have a final period,) but we ended up adding it manually every time, so there will be lots of double final periods to fix... — Daniel Forgues 03:50, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm looking at this discussion only now after I removed the Wolfram detail, MathWorld is good enough here. The enforced period is a pain, see the edit history of Template:tlx/doc. Hint for others: Daniel's example shows the "– A Wolfram web resource" cruft based on another version of this template. — Frank Ellermann 23:35, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Attribution

Is still everything in MathWorld by Eric? Clearly it was his baby long before he joined Wolfram, but I'm not sure about attributing all MathWorld articles existing today (years later) to Eric. — Frank Ellermann 23:40, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

We have the template parameter (where Eric W. Weisstein is the default value)
author = {{{author|Weisstein, Eric W.}}}

Thanks, but I'll use {{cite web}} directly, for their suggested "cite as:MathWorld—A Wolfram Web Resource" I expect their offer for "paid editing" (plain English: spam) on my talk page. –Frank Ellermann 00:57, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
