Eratosthenes of Cyrene (Ancient Greek: Ἐρατοσθένης, IPA: [eratostʰénɛːs]; English /ɛrəˈtɒsθəniːz/; c. 276 bce – c. 195 bce) was a Greek mathematician, geographer, poet, athlete, astronomer, and music theorist.
