Kieren MacMillan is a professional composer and amateur number theorist. In 1987, he attended the University of Waterloo on a mathematics scholarship before transferring to the University of British Columbia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 1992. He obtained his Master of Music in Composition from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in 1997. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife and daughter.
