Retired actuary; non-executive director of a number of insurance and reinsurance companies; author of "Diary of a Private Investor" column in the Sunday Times. After retirement, I completed a BA with the Open University, graduating in 2013 with First Class Honours. Maths was the main focus of the degree (with an English module in First year). Subjects included Number Theory, Complex Analysis, Mathematical Methods and Models, topology and Groups & Geometry.
