Disproven?

What about disproven conjectures, like Pólya's conjecture and the so-called "Chinese hypothesis"? Alonso del Arte 05:34, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Since the page asks for conjectures to be removed once proved, I think the intent is that these not be added. Of course the page might morph into something where these would be included, who knows. Charles R Greathouse IV 05:23, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Hopefully two or three of these will be knocked off in our lifetimes. For when that happens, list of resolved prime conjectures‎ will be ready. Alonso del Arte 20:16, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Two or three? Hmm... Goldbach, twin primes, and a disproof of Firoozbakht's conjecture perhaps? Charles R Greathouse IV 03:17, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
I was thinking of the Goldbach, too, since Helfgott seems to have made some serious progress towards proving it. If there have been developments to justify optimism for the twin prime conjecture, I have not heard of them. Two or three is just a wild guess. Alonso del Arte 22:36, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Some of my reasons for optimism on twin primes: Goldston-Pintz-Yıldırım (2005), Green-Tao (2006... the other Green-Tao paper), Goldston-Pintz-Yıldırım (2007), Zhang (2013), Tao et. al. (2014). I know I'm forgetting at least one major development in the last decade, but it's late. Charles R Greathouse IV 05:48, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
