This probably should be incorporated into Special cases of the Chebyshev polynomials‎. Charles R Greathouse IV 14:26, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

  • I agree. More generally: What is the benefit of copying parts and special cases of Wikipedia to this wiki? A link to Wikipedia is sufficient, I think. The OEIS wiki does not have to duplicate Wikipedia or Mathworld. @Haydar Your edits look to me as been done hastily. Is the "(-" in the definition the rudiment of (-α)^p in the Wikipedia article? And why do you give the first link twice? Moreover, look at the nice way references are given at the Wikipedia article. Please use such a form here also. I want to know what is behind a link before I choose to select it. Peter Luschny 15:14, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I strongly agree with Peter Luschny. It's not in our best interest to try to become Wikikpedia, because Wikipedia will always be better at being Wikipedia than we will. We should focus on our area, linking to other sites (MathWorld, Wikipedia, PlanetMath, RosettaCode, Terry Tao's blog, etc.) as needed. Not only does this avoid copyright issues, but it lets other sites use their strengths while not taking our effort to maintain. (You'd hate to copy over a Wikipedia page, only to learn that three years later the Wikipedia article has been overhauled and made much nicer while our version stagnates. Even if we kept it in synch, that would take a much larger percentage of our time than of Wikipedia's time.) Charles R Greathouse IV 13:58, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
