Thomas is a postdoc researcher and senior university instructor at TU Dresden, Germany. He accomplished his own education at this institution and at the University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in computer engineering with a focus on digital design, embedded systems and massively parallel computation using FPGAs. He is experienced in developing on all abstraction levels of a computing system from RTL for custom accelerators all the way up to integrating their functionality into high-level C++ or Java APIs. He is currently embracing the great opportunities of heterogeneous hybrids, such as the Zynq platform, that tightly integrate FPGA fabric with standard CPU cores.
