Octavian Cira is Professor, with a Ph.D. in Mathematics, specialist in Numerical Analysis, founding Dean of the School of Exact Sciences (2003–2008) of "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad. He is the author of the monograph "Numerical Solving the of Algebraic Equations" published by the Romanian Academy in 2005. Since 1998 he has promoted the mathematical software Mathcad in Romania by publishing several user manuals. On a national level, his monographs regarding the numerical analysis of numerical methods for nonlinear equations (2008) and at the simultaneous inclusion methods (2012) are well known. He is author of over 79 scientific papers, 61 in refereed journals or proceedings.
