User:Michel Dekking

F. Michel Dekking received his diploma in Mathematics and Mechanics in 1974 at the University of Amsterdam. He was Attachée de Recherche, C.N.R.S. at the Université de Rennes, during 1975-1977. He received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Nijmegen in 1980, with advisors M. S. Keane and W. Vervaat. Since September 1981 he is affiliated to Delft University of Technology, were he is now Professor emeritus. He is active in diverse areas of pure and applied mathematics. In 2013, he was guest editor of the special issue on “Mathematics of Planet Earth” of Statistical Science.
