Manuel E. Lladser received an M.A. degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin in 2000, and a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the Ohio State University in 2003. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Colorado--Boulder. He specializes in discrete and applied probability, and his research is in nature interdisciplinary and motivated by problems in computational biology.
