Now retired, living in Cheshire, England. B.Sc metallurgy and material science, Univ Birmingham 1969, PhD Physics Univ Warwick 1974, BSc mathematics Univ Manchester 2004. Worked in R&D for UK electricity supply industry for 23 years, mainly on ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDE). Chartered Engineer via Inst.Mech.Eng. From 1995 was technology business consultant to industry and academia, and finally maths teacher in college with PGCE.
