I was born in 1978 in Palermo, Italy. In 2002 I received the Laurea (M.S.) degree in Mathematics at the University of Palermo. In 2006 I received the Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Palermo, and the Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Marne-la-Vallée, France (joint Ph.D.). My research focuses on the combinatorics on words and its applications. I am interested in combinatorial problems on words and in the applications of the combinatorics on words in several fields of theoretical computer science (as for example text algorithms, bio-informatics, information theory, data compression, coding, etc.) mainly through formal languages and automata theory tools.
