I am a long-time experimental mathematician, recently retired from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and currently a Research Associate at the University of California, Davis. Among other things, I was a co-author of the 1997 paper that presented the "BBP" formula and algorithm for computing binary or hexadecimal digits of pi starting at an arbitrary starting position. Together with my long-time collaborator Jonathan M. Borwein (deceased 2016), we wrote over 100 papers and five books. We also wrote over 200 blog articles on mathematics, computing and modern science -- see http://www.experimentalmath.info/blog. Since Jon's death, I blog at http://www.mathscholar.org.
