The {{miscategorized}} categories maintenance template invisibly categorizes a category with miscategorized protected pages (view source only) in Category:Categories with miscategorized items (view source only) (a hidden category.)

Usage

{{tnxb|Miscategorized|List 1 of miscategorized items| ... |List 16 of miscategorized items}}

or, for better readability,

{{Miscategorized
| List 1 of miscategorized items
| List 2 of miscategorized items
| ...
| List 15 of miscategorized items
| List 16 of miscategorized items}}

where you may specify between 1 to 16 lists of miscategorized items (1 to 10 items per list) per template call. If you have more miscategorized items, just do more template calls with up to 16 lists of items for each of them.

This will categorize the category with miscategorized items (view source only) in the hidden category Category:Categories with miscategorized items (view source only) with a message given via the template specifying the miscategorized items, thus providing the required information for sysops or administrators to actually categorize the items properly (unless they think otherwise.)
