Lorenzo Mascheroni

Lorenzo Mascheroni (1750–1800) was an Italian mathematician. In 1790, he computed the constant $\scriptstyle \gamma \,\approx \,0.5772157\,$ to more places than had been previously available. In his honor, the constant is now known as the Euler–Mascheroni constant.
