How to add a comment, more terms, or a b-file (short version)

From OeisWiki
Jump to: navigation, search
  • Make sure you are registered
  • Go to oeis.org and login in upper right
  • Go to the sequence
  • Click edit
  • Add your comment (say if it is a guess or a theorem), or edit the DATA section, or click "I want to upload a supporting file" and check "This is a b-file"
  • Click "Save changes"
  • Click "These changes are ready for review by an editor"
  • Here are two common traps related to replacing a b-file with a new one. Overlooking these two facts has led to a lot of confusion.
    • When you upload a new b-file, after you do "Save" and "Ready for approval", at that point the new b-file gets renamed b345470.txt, and the old b-file get called something like b345470_2.txt, b345470_3.txt etc. This renaming happens automatically.
    • When you check to see if your new b-file has been successfully uploaded, it is VERY IMPORTANT to REFRESH the page, otherwise your computer may be showing you the last cached copy, not the new one!!
