2011 complaints:

A summary of an editorial conflict with the Editor Charles R Greathouse IV

To the Editors-in-Chief:

The incident , summarized in some points :

  • Charles R Greathouse IV deleted a page I created (a copy is provided here)about a special function having generated many integer sequences (some edited by N. J. A. Sloane, Roger L. Bagula and Gary Adamson..)
  • He Changed it to a Chebyshev-linked sequences, just for deleting my page (for evidence , see that he added Luckas and Fibonacci polynomials wich have nothing to do with Chebyshev !!)
  • For that, he used his Editor privilege (with no consensus) he deleted, changed then APPROVED his OWN edits.
  • Suddenly I discover he is was asking for the deletion of the page there with a wrong argument: Traduced : Ces dits polynômes ont été "inventés" par une équipe de chercheurs tunisiens et ne sont mentionnés que par les publications de cette équipe, ainsi que par deux publications non scientifiques dans un magazine tunisien => Those so-called Polynomials have been invented .. and are mentioned nowhere but by this team and in two non-scientific magazines .
  • Saying he was "conveying wrong information" has been evoked there, for evidence: compare the reasons he brought to the content of these pages [1] and [2]
  • I see there [3] that he was told that these arguments were those of an old known, banned Racist and Xenophobe vandal, he added some some old links
  • When he was provided proofs of his mistakes, Charles R Greathouse IV began to accuse admins and sysops there (JackPotte, Crochet.david, Tweety , Cynddl ..etc) by being sockpupets or so
  • As these were also the method of that old known, banned Racist and Xenophobe vandal, some users there came to the conclusion that Charles R Greathouse IV was him and the page was kept.

Thanks

Response from N. J. A. Sloane, Sep 04 2011: I fully support the actions of Charles Greathouse and the other Editors-in-Chief.

Ok Professor. Your message is clear and your decision is accepted. But please should you allow a neutral editor, on your behalf, to make a short investigation on this event?

I was going to nominate myself for the neutral editor, but then I realized that I am biased in favor of Charles. Almost everyone here is. Though I disagree with him on one or two minor things, I thoroughly respect his judgement. You on the other hand have launched an energetic lobbying campaign and have casually played the race card. I suggest you stop the lobbying and instead concentrate your efforts on writing an expository eBook on the Boubaker polynomials. Alonso del Arte 20:37, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
