A081825 Decimal expansion of atomic mass constant, in kg. 2

%I #23 Nov 26 2023 08:37:15

%S 1,6,6,0,5,3,9,0,6

%N Decimal expansion of atomic mass constant, in kg.

%C From _Jianing Song_, Nov 26 2023: (Start)

%C The atomic mass constant (with symbol Da or u) is defined as 1/12 of the mass of an unbound neutral atom of carbon-12 in its nuclear and electronic ground state and at rest.

%C We have 1.66053906610*10^(-27) kg <= 1 u <= 1.66053906710*10^(-27) kg. Multiplying this by the Avogadro constant (A322578) we get 0.0009999999993533... kg/mol <= (1 u)*N_A <= 0.0009999999999555... kg/mol. In other words, 1 u is strictly less than (but very close to) (0.001 kg/mol)/N_A after the redefinition of SI units in 2019. (End)
